Help a family with another international adoption
A family in our support group is working on an international adoption. Help out if you can!

Hello friends, my name is Shannon.
In 2012 I adopted a beautiful and vivacious little ladybug with Spina Bifida from Eastern Europe. She is a pure delight and the light of my life. My family is once again expanding thru the gift and miracle of adoption! We are adding two beautiful teenage girls to our family and we are both very excited!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with international adoption, it’s a long, tedious, and expensive process. Kiddos like my ladybug are placed in orphanages because of the social stigma of having special needs. Many are locked away and forgotten in mental institutions.
Those of you who have met my ladybug, know she is far from needing to be in any kind of institution! We are now ready to add sisters to our family!
We chose international adoption because for those children overseas, it’s truly a matter of life and death. Teenagers are put on the street at 16 with little to no education, a very small cash stipend, and no place to go. Most of the girls will end up as prostitutes in an attempt to support themselves, which usually ends in early death. My two girls are 14 years old. Their future is grim.
Adoption has touched my life in ways that are indescribable. You cannot go through this process without being changed. Though adoption is not for everyone, it is possible to help a child by helping the family get these kids home. I’m doing a shoe drive to help fund this adoption. We need 15,000 pair of used pairs of shoes. These shoes go to other children who need them. Will you find it in your heart to help me bring these two girls home by donating your old pairs of shoes?
Love and light, Shannon
