Lance Smith fundraises for SB

High School Senior Lance Smith of Burley, Idaho presented a generous donation to the Spina Bifida Clinic and the Intermountain Spina Bifida Support Group at the Spring Education Program held on May 7, 2010.  Lance decided to raise funds through a 5K fun walk/run as his senior year project.

Lance mentioned that even though there were 3 inches of snow the day of the fundraiser, people still participated in the worthy cause. Corporate sponsors were also very supportive.

“We are so grateful for Lance, the Smith family and the many who supported his fundraiser,” board member Joel Kongaika commented. “Lance and his parents woke up at 4:30am, drove from Burley, Idaho to Salt Lake City, Utah to present the donation to the group of 85 in attendance at the event and after grabbing a quick bite, turned around and drove back home! We commend him for his kindness and his parents for their example as well.”

Following graduation, Lance plans to attend college in Twin Falls, Idaho pursuing studies in mechanical engineering.

Lance Smith prepared this impressive display for the event.
